- Part Time
- Plymouth
Belong in Plymouth is a very exciting place to be and has a great Core Team driving the work forward. We have four roles we need filled and we thought the best place to start was the group of people already connected to the programme.
We are tackling some of the fundamental questions to making Plymouth a city where no one feels forgotten:
- How do we place citizen voice at the centre of decision making?
- How do we work in collaboration, cooperation and alignment?
- How can the VCSE & grassroots collaborate with the statutory health & care sector?
We are doing this is a way that uses values and principles consistently across all parts of the work. We are working hard to prioritise listening and relationships in all our work – and this requires us to work in ways deals with uncertainty – we don’t know what people will say! Afterall if we set off knowing what we will do, how can we listen and adapt? And if we knew how to do this work we would be doing it already. But we don’t so we also have to experiment and learn as we go. None of the questions or the ways of working lend themselves to a normal way of delivering a programme. You need to know this before you join the work because it needs people who are willing to play, learn and experiment again.
So what are the roles?
- A lead for the Emergency Department project – the where’s, when’s and how’s of the Emergency Department project. Organising meetings and support to the co-design lead and the ED Team to help it go smoothly.
- The organisation and supporting of the Core team – the where’s, when’s and how’s of our meeting and the support to the strategic development of why we meet.
- The development and nurturing of the Community Research role – attracting people to the role and advertising training; support to people to have community conversations; collating the conversations and uploading them for further analysis; organising the next step sense making workshops that bring people together from the wider system and the community research being done to talk about what next.
- Supporting the formation of a challenge and support group. Work with Mark Doughty our Kings Fund consultant we want to test an approach of using wider network members to help offer challenge and thoughtful insight into the Core Team’s work. It would involve recruiting members, testing the approach and refining the eventual approach.
It is an estimate but we are allocating the following hours to each role:
- 1 day per week to be reviewed in September
- 1 day per month to be reviewed in September
- 1 day per week ongoing
- 0.5 days per week ongoing
We can consider self-employment, part secondment, employment or perhaps there’s an opportunity to include this in your existing role? To guide your thinking we have a set of pre-agreed rates for self-employed roles:
- £41.6/hr for leading work
- £20.8/hr for attendance at meetings
The majority of this work will be at the £41.60 rate.
