We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and proactive Fundraiser to join our small and friendly team based in Millbrook, Cornwall. We aim to make all staff feel valued and supported with training and a competitive salary, along with providing the knowledge and skills needed to do a great job.

 

The Fundraiser’s primary role will be to plan, research and generate funds to support all aspects of our organisation – including the life-changing voyages we provide, the Tectona refurbishment project and overheads.

 

We are looking for someone who is positive, initiative-driven, and confident in bringing new ideas for income generation to the organisation. The successful applicant will show enthusiasm and flexibility in a challenging sector but most of all will share our passion for supporting others to improve their lives.

 

The Fundraiser’s work schedule will be between two and four days per week with flexible working hours and location.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

·         Preparing, maintaining, and delivering a fundraising strategy and plan alongside our Volunteer Fundraiser and Business Manager to support the delivery of our vision and charitable objectives.

·         Enhancing our fundraising capability – providing expertise and creativity to broaden our fundraising income by:

o   Writing grant applications, proposals, and letters to attract funding from grant-making trusts and foundations.

o   Exploring all areas of fundraising including individual giving, corporate, legacy, and major donors and identifying new opportunities.

o   Supporting the organisation and delivery of virtual and in-person fundraising events.

o   Supporting our sailing groups with fundraising ideas.

·         Building and nurturing long-term relationships with new and existing funders through regular communication and compelling impact reports and updates.

·         Ensuring our fundraising activities remain compliant with statutory and regulatory requirements and reflect best practice.

·         Regularly updating and effectively managing the fundraising information held on our database.

·         Reporting to the Business Manager.
