Main Purpose of Job: Working with the Wellbeing Hub network, the Voluntary and Community Sector and other partners to promote local co – operative ways of working to develop what local communities and people want to achieve. This post holder will work closely with individuals, organisations and communities that wish to promote and support the LGBTQ+ community and ensure greater opportunities are available for all leading to improved wellbeing.
The aim of the role is to work at neighbourhood and grassroots level to build confident, more resilient, thriving and connected communities by identifying and mapping community assets, listening to local people and supporting partnership working to enable communities to achieve their goals. This work will connect to the community of practice model being developed across the City and will support neighbourhood networks of grassroots organisations.

Establishing local networks with shared purpose and values
Sharing training and knowledge to create resilience across a variety of community initiatives
Sharing information to ensure that there is a common purpose within communities and to avoid duplication
Hosting activities and events to support collaborative working
Identifying initiatives that could benefit from small levels of funding to maximise their effectiveness in working with their local communities
Collecting and analyse community data to identify gaps in provision and to work with partners to address service shortfalls

Increased number of groups within the community applying for pump prime funding from the Sparks Funding Initiative
Development of focus groups or other methods of gathering evidence to capture improvements in community spirit and individual resilience
Increased number of individuals and organisations that work collaboratively to develop new community led activity and will act as ambassadors for their community
Clear training and support structures embedded within the Community Builders Programme to maximise effectiveness of the networks and individuals involved in community provision
Smooth, organised, efficient and calm day-to-day running of the business takes place

Educated at GCSE Level or above
Passion for community empowerment and to advocate and promote the LGBQT+ community
Innovation, initiative and passion for community development work.
Excellent communication and Interpersonal skills
Ability to be able to collect and collate community data.
IT literate with knowledge and experience of differing types of media, publications and social media
Experience of working collaboratively particularly within the community development framework
Ability to organise community and engagement events
Understanding of professional boundaries and safeguarding procedures
Able to be flexible and adaptable to different working environments required in community work
Ability to raise awareness and motivate from learning from the project to increase community resilience
Identify and support individuals to become community ambassadors / connectors.
Ability to treat people as individuals and recognise the many differing issues people face.
