Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser, 22 hrs per week – Salary £23-26k pro rata,
based on experience
An exciting and new opportunity has arisen for a Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser
to join Friends and Families of Special Children’s fundraising team and work creatively
to increase income, year on year, from a number of corporate income streams.
Friends and Families of Special Children has a built a good foundation of existing
corporate support however there is significant potential to develop this across the city
of Plymouth and the charity’s surrounding catchment area.
Friends and Families are looking for a passionate, self-driven, awesome networker
with a can-do attitude. The ideal candidate will have a sales, marketing or business
development background with some fundraising knowledge and experience. They will
be excellent at building and developing relationships; possess a keen understanding
and ability to talk business, as well as successful negotiation and all-round
The post holder will work closely with the Community Fundraiser and Marketing and
Communications Officer, ensuring that all supporters receive an excellent donor
experience when working in partnership with the charity.
You must be able to travel locally, working occasional evenings and weekends, as
required and according to the needs of the charity.

About Friends and Families of Special Children
Almost 1 in 5 people in the UK are living with a disability – many of whom are just
children. So many families on this journey don’t know where to turn and are extremely
isolated, vulnerable and in desperate need of support.
Friends and Families of Special Children work tirelessly every day to ensure that every
family in Plymouth and the surrounding 20+ mile radius area on this journey are
supported ultimately so they can experience the best quality of life possible.
The charity was set up in 2002 and as of 2019, has more than 1,400 registered
families. Services such as its Lending Library, Advocacy Service and Fun and
Freedom Club make a huge difference to families including young carers every single

Already the charity has celebrated several successes this year including Global’s
Make Some Noise Campaign which awarded the charity £90,000, winning two GHP
Social Care Awards and the charity was cited as the Best Practice Representative in
the 2019 Care Parliamentary Review.
The charity does not receive any statutory funding and relies solely on donations from
trusts, foundations, community and corporate supporters.
